The Director General of CAFRAD, after consultation with the Chairman of the Governing Board, decided the establishment within CAFRAD of an ad hoc body designated by the acronym IAC or the International Advisory Committee of CAFRAD whose role will be to:

  1. promote the coherence of CAFRAD strategies with the current development of public administration at the international level;
  2. propose research and study projects capable ofcontributing to the influence of CAFRAD at the continental and international level;
  3. Propose the program of income-generating activities for CAFRAD (seminars, studies, expertise, consulting, ...);
  4. mobilize the necessary funds for the revitalization of CAFRAD;
  5. propose strategies aiming at organizing events involving CAFRAD and African expertise at the continental and international level;
  6. set up new conceptual and operational tools in consultation with the Scientific Council in order to strengthen the role of CAFRAD in the dynamics of modernization of public administrations in Africa.

The aforesaid Committee is an advisory body whose opinions and decisions can neither impose nor replace those of the Executive Committee or the Governing Board statutorily provided for by the founding texts;

The members of the International Advisory Committee are appointed, among CAFRAD member, non-member and/or sympathisers States, by the Chairman of the Governing Board on proposal of the Director-General according to criteria of experience, expertise, language, regions, and involvement in CAFRAD through various forms of action.

These individuals can be from the academic world, senior administration, the business community or the voluntary sector.

The International Advisory Committee is an autonomous body whose frequency of meetings is set according to a schedule fixed independently.

The International Advisory Committee is composed of a Chairman, a Secretary General and members.

The term of office of the members of the aforesaid Committee shall be of two years renewable once.

The International Advisory Committee shall submit annually a report to the Director-General as a proposal for the improvement and modernization of the Centre.
